Update

Losing weight is sort of a good news bad news thing in reenacting, Good news is that you can fit into neat original clothes (Mostly) bad news is that none of your old stuff fits, at least not well, thus my issue. My British WWI officers stuff is to horrendously large now, I just cant wear it, so with that in mind I have decided to step down as BEF Commander. I know I will probably gain most of my weight back, I did before, but I hope to keep it off. I am not getting rid of anything this time just in case.

17th and 18th Century stuff….

Well my Matchlock is on order with John Buck, scheduled to be delivered in March or April. My back and Breast and helmet are both on order from England. I picked up some shoes from Museum replicas as they were on close out and my Hat and belt should be shipped next week. I should order a new canteen and Cartridge box soon. John may be able to make my belt of charges for my 17th Century stuff ( I also ordered a priming flask from him). So we are on our way.

I also have been working on finishing off my East German and Cold War British stuff so that’s almost done.

George Fraser Dies....

George Fraser....the Author of "Quarter Safe Out Here" has passed away. His account of the war in burma lead me to researching the little known conflict there and enabled me to contact several 9th Border vets. He also, among other books, wrote "Steel Bonnets" a great book on Border Rievers that sparked my intrest in that topic.
Arroyo! George

42nd Regt. Tel El Kabir 1882

Ok...It was a night March...thank god for the Royal Navy...but what a rush at Dawn.

New Impressions for the New Year…

Ok It’s 2008 and I have decided to work on 2 impressions. They are of earlier periods, One is Rev War, a period I did for a short time back in the Olde Tymes. Matt and I are putting together a 5th of Foote impression to sort of anchor our Northumberlands time line on. I love the period so I am hoping we get it together. We are also doing a Delaware Regiment impression which will rock.

The Other impression is a English Civil War Impression, I still have allot of my clothing for this but It is my hopes to do a New Model Unit ( We Did Hampdens before and that was the early war green coat). I have already begun to get some things together and I am selling some stuff to help pay for these impressions. I’ll Post more info when I have it.

Arent you that Guy....

You never know who your going to meet, being a world class Chrononaught and garden gnome collector can have its perks. This is that Guy Martin Sheen, I finally had to call security to have him escorted out.

Dang Nabit!!!

I have a rule that through the studious adherence to laziness and shirkery I can avoid all rank and responsibility...except apparently in the Federal Army it gets you promoted....who knew.
